For the 18th year in a row, the Capital Annual Invest in Greece Forum took place in New York on December 12, 2016.

The Falakro grand opening took place from 16 to 18 December and aimed to place the Falakro Mountain on the tourism and sports map, whilst at the same time promoting environmental awareness.

TAP is one of the most important leaders and promoters on safety standards in Albania and actively participated in the 3rd Tirana Gas Pipelines Safety Workshop, organised on 18 November 2016.

TAP began the complex works for crossing an approx. 1.1km stretch in the Albanian region of Fier, which hosts the Seman river, a railway as well as a road.

TAP concluded works for the rehabilitation of access roads and bridges in one of the most remote areas of the Korça Region.

October 4 marks the annual “World Animal Day”, an initiative aimed to raise awareness about animal welfare globally. We therefore took the opportunity to look back on TAP’s environmental efforts and commitments as well as report on recent actions to identify, mitigate and protect important species, their habitats and ecosystems along the pipeline route.

For the first time in Albania, TAP refurbished an access bridge using a structural strengthening method that allowed to maintain road traffic open.

As part of the rehabilitation works for access road 411 (in the Çorovoda region), TAP successfully stabilized a slope affected by landslides.

The first large diameter ball valves for TAP have been delivered in both Greece and Albania. Each valve weighs approximately 20 tonnes.

5 TAP donations to institutions in Northern Greece completed in collaboration with the Social Solidarity and Relief Network

AVIS with the support of TAP, organised the first “Benchmarking Al-bania - Towards EU Road Safety” conference. "Driving safety is an important issue to every single person but it is particularly important to a pipeline project due to huge distances involved. So far we have driven over 6.7 million kilometres" emphasised TAP project Director Norman Ingram.

The TAP team in Tirana joined the “Run4Autism” marathon, initiative organised in framework of April 2016 the International Autism Month. This annual event aims to raise awareness of autism and collect funds for the treatment of autistic children in Albania. Wearing “TiRun – Run4Autism” t-shirts, TAP employees ran 5 km or 10 km along the main boulevard of the capital along with hundreds of participants.

TAP supported the 6th Serres ECO-Festival, a three-day event organised by the Municipality of Serres. The festival, marking the World Environment Day, took place between 5-8 June in the open area of the former Papalouka military camp.

On 25 May 2016, TAP participated in a key panel discussion, part of the “High Level Policy Dialogue on Business Climate and Investment Attractiveness” in Albania. TAP Country Manager Shkëlqim Bozgo joined the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Minister of Finance Arben Ahmetaj, the Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship Milva Ekonomi, the IMF representative in Albania Jens Reinke, the World Bank Country Manager Tahseen Sayed and the CEO of the American Bank of Investments Andi Ballta.

Nothing spells actual start of a pipeline project like the fresh production of the first batch of hard steel pipes. Following TAP’s contract award for 270km onshore line pipes and bends to Salzgitter Mannesmann International, the first 130 pieces of 48" induction bends have already been produced!
