TAP Sponsors National Orchestra of Thessaloniki Concert

30 September 2014

TAP joined Thessaloniki in bidding farewell to Summer under a dazzling display of music and laser-lights as it helped sponsor the National Orchestra of Thessaloniki’s Annual Concert in the city’s beautiful Aristotle Square, on September 15, as part of its CSR program.

Headlined as the “Bye-bye Summer” music festival, the Thessaloniki orchestra, under the direction of conductor George Vrana, performed works from famous operas, jazz and Spanish classics.

A special surprise came with the participation of the Children’s Choir of the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius, which joined the orchestra in front of a cheering crowd of tens-of-thousands, which included City Mayor Yiannis Boutaris, Macedonia-Thrace Minister George Orfanos, ministers and other officials, as well as some of TAP’s very own who were in town.

The sponsorship forms part of TAP’s commitment to the region, and is a longstanding and key element of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme in its plans to become a part of the Community of Northern Greece and an equal partner in its economic and social development over the life of the project. TAP looks forward to joining Thessaloniki in greeting many more Summers for many years to come.
