More than 30 children between the ages of three and six can now go to a brand new kindergarten built to the highest standards. The construction of the new building took approximately six months and created 65 jobs during construction.
The Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi, the Ura Vajgurore Mayor Juliana Memaj, TAP’s Country Manager for Albania Malfor Nuri, representatives of the Regional Education Directorate, kindergarten staff, children and their parents were present to inaugurate the new kindergarten.
After unveiling the plaque marking the construction of the new building, the kindergarten director showed the participants the facilities where the children will spend their days. The decision to build a new kindergarten was reached after engineers assessed the old building and confirmed that it was in a very poor condition and that it could not be simply renovated.
The Minister of Tourism and Environment, Blendi Klosi, stressed the importance of robust education in the development of a society: “We have already accomplished many investments but this one is for the kids of this community, which is the focus of the municipality. I am very satisfied with the conditions that this newly-built kindergarten offers to the kids. The facilities of this building will also be used as a social centre for the village. TAP's economic activity will bring more benefits to this community in the future.”
The Mayor of Ura Vajgurore, Juliana Memaj, appreciated TAP’s investment in this community: “I am happy that the Pashalli children now have a building that provides very good conditions. This kindergarten is one from eight kindergartens renovated in the Municipality of Ura Vajgurore. Our collaboration with TAP is strong and we have been able to implement very important investments for the Municipality of Ura Vajgurore.”
TAP Country Manager for Albania, Malfor Nuri said: “We have returned the hospitality of these communities with social and environmental investments. The kindergarten in Pashalli is an example of the excellent relations that TAP has fostered with the communities and local government, because such investments would not be possible without the cooperation of all stakeholders involved. We feel honoured and proud to have built a kindergarten to the highest standards.”
The Pashalli Village kindergarten has one floor with an indoor surface area of 360 square meters and an outdoor area of 690 square meters. Special attention was paid to the building’s energy efficiency and temperature control. This was achieved with a complete thermal insulation of the façade and the installation of a central heating system. TAP has also implemented relevant safety standards, providing the kindergarten with fire extinguishers.
In addition to the Pashalli kindergarten, TAP has also rebuilt the “Llukë Mita” school in the Konizbalta village and has reconstructed the “Tre Dëshmorët” school in the Pobrat village of Ura Vajgurore.
TAP remains committed to improving the quality of life of local communities, with a particular emphasis on school rehabilitation, in cooperation with both the central and local governments. To date, TAP has invested approximately 4 million Euro in this area, as part of its SEI programme. In total, TAP has committed to invest 14 million Euro in Albania.
