Based on the results of the Census and Asset Inventory (CAI), TAP calculated compensation amounts and presented them to affected land owners and users.
Land access agreements were formalised in a contract with TAP. Great care has been taken to propose the fairest and best possible solution to all land owners and users affected by the project.
All agreements were signed before construction with all payments for land access having been settled. Compensation for impacts on plants and crops or other livelihood activities are paid on occurrence of the impact.
TAP negotiated settlements with affected land owners and land users wherever possible. TAP has used compulsory easement or/and expropriation only where attempts at reaching an agreement failed, in accordance with national expropriation laws.
